Keywords: ice bucket ice bucket use

For wine lovers, the ice bucket is a common tool. At major wine tasting parties, ice buckets are definitely indispensable. Wine is sensitive to temperature, and different types of wines need to be served at different temperatures in order to get the best wine tasting experience.

In life, we can use different methods and tools to freeze wine, such as using refrigerators or wine cabinets to freeze, one of the simple and quick methods is to use ice buckets. When freezing wine in an ice bucket, sparkling and sweet wines generally take 10-15 minutes, white wines 6-10 minutes, and red wines 3-5 minutes.

However, the use of ice buckets is exquisite. The following is how to properly use ice buckets to "cool down" wine:

First, add crushed ice cubes and water in a ratio of 1:1 to the ice bucket, as long as it fills 3/4 of the capacity of the ice bucket, do not fill it up, otherwise the water will overflow after putting it in the wine bottle;

Then, put the wine bottle in the middle of the ice bucket, there should be about 1 inch thick ice cubes under the bottom of the bottle, do not let the wine bottle directly touch the bottom of the wine bucket;

Third, accumulate ice cubes around the bottle body, but do not stack the ice cubes too tightly, otherwise it will not be conducive to freezing;

Fourth, let the wine sit in the ice bucket for an appropriate amount of time, then take it out of the bucket.

There are two issues to be aware of when using ice buckets:

(1) Ice cubes and water should be added to the ice bucket at the same time, not just ice cubes; when ice cubes and water exist together, the ice cubes melt faster, so that the heat from the wine can be absorbed faster;

(2) If you want to further speed up the freezing, you can add a few tablespoons of table salt to the ice water, because salt can lower the freezing point of the ice water and make the ice cubes melt faster.
